That Sacred Kind of Love
The story about the life and death of R&B singer Phyllis Hyman.
With the success and acceptance of Dreamgirls and Ray, audiences are still mesmerized with the lives and times of R&B singers and the world behind their music. Actor Cornelius Muller of New York, NY seeks to tell such a story but in a way that follows the tragedy and loss of musical personalities that have reached the edge of their existence with no where else to turn.
Gabe Morris and Ben Snyder have traced the footsteps of the singer Phyllis Hyman's last day June 30th, 1995, when only hours before a scheduled performance at the Apollo Theatre in New York, Phyllis' lifeless body was found in her apartment where all efforts to revive her failed. Her suicide, while shocking, was not a surprise to many insiders. This very common tale of female celebrity ending this way was an excellent platform to explore Solomon's decree of 'Meaningless' as he outlines in the book of Ecclesiastes.
Muller hopes to tell Phyllis' story so that many more people can see the beauty and luster she had to offer while here on earth and somehow find meaning in her death.
With the script finished, Muller is shopping it around and hopes to produced the project entitled: That Sacred Kind of Love, later this year.
