Synopsis:
Path of the Righteous Man is an adaptation of the timeless story of 2 Samuels David and Bathsheba set in the modern backdrop of a small town courthouse and police precinct.
Mickey Davis is a ferocious assistant district attorney with an impeccable record until one day when he meets Eric Malone, a white cop caught in a tough spot. After beating a young black boy who turned out to be innocent, Eric is in need of a friend in high places. Mickey tells Eric that he’s in a tough spot and Eric must help himself if he wants to get out of it. A man named Frank Peales is looking for Mickey, but Mickey is busy somewhere else.
After Mickey meets with the ruined patrolman, he chances upon a vivacious young girl named Beth. Though married and successful, Mickey asks the young woman what she needs. They end up getting hot and heavy in a changing booth in a local mall.
When Mickey leaves Beths apartment later, he thinks that the passionate love affair is over until he finds out that Beth is Erics husband and she had seduced Mickey. But Beth does not want Mickey to get Eric out, she WANTS TO KEEP HIM IN!
When Mickey finds out Beth is pregnant, he realizes that something must be done. Mickeys secretary is desperately looking for her boss to tell him that Frank Peales needs to speak with him, but Mickey is too busy with his own dilemma. He gets Eric off easy but tells the young man that he must work on a dangerous highway for a few years before he can regain his former status. Eric agrees. But when back on the force he is killed when a man he pulls over pulls out a gun.
Mickey sits at a table several rich and powerful town officials at a local restaurant. Beth is now his wife and she wears fancy clothes next to him as he speaks eloquently about what must be done to clean up the city. Frank Peales is at the table and he tells Mickey about a boy who was killed over a bicycle. A grown man killed him for the bike and gave it to his own son. Mickey wants to know who the man is so he can prosecute him. Frank, the chief investegator for internal affairs, tells Mickey that HE IS THE MAN.
